It has begun! :c) My Soap for Hope program is underway with two charities to start. I am proud to say that I have made 44 bars of charity soap so far. 22 bars have been freshly handmade for St. Baldrick's supporting a cure for childhood cancer and 22 for Susan G. Komen supporting a cure for breast cancer. Half of each sale ($4 from each $8 bar sold) will go to the charities, $176 total just from these batches! (I love easy math, I can't stand when it is X% of the "profits" shoot.. who knows how much that is, just give it to me straight, thank you.) Both soaps are truly fabulous and available exclusively as the charity bars. I hope you will help me support these two very worthy organizations by purchasing some soaps or donating directly online. Now is the time to stock up on gifts, the fresh citrusy scents and vibrant colors are perfect for Spring and would be adorable in an Easter Basket or for upcoming birthdays. The St. Baldrick's soap is invigorating, cheerful fresh lemon-rosemary (pictured left). It has all of my normal, all natural, wholesome vegan ingredients and is scented with pure lemon, rosemary, and just a hint of lime essential oil and is speckled with exfoliating pieces of dried rosemary. The soaps are available online at my strawberry hedgehog site and will be for sale at Inside the Bungalow in Mesa, AZ, the host of the St. Baldrick's event that inspired this choice to get involved. Losing a child for any reason is something I can't even imagine but particularly to cancer, one of the more painful ways to go is gut wrenching. St. Baldrick's raises money to fund finding a cure through diverse means and also helps the kids who are losing their hair feel more confident about their situation as they watch the adults in their lives sheer their locks as well. It is such a noble cause and I hope I can sell some soaps to do my part. Will you help? Please attend the event at Inside the Bungalow on May 2nd at 4pm, 48 N. Robson, Mesa, AZ or make a donation online.
The soap supporting the Susan G. Komen Foundation to find a cure for breast cancer is refreshing, cooling pink grapefruit-peppermint. Colored only with natural minerals and scented with pure pink grapefruit essential oil, peppermint and spearmint essential oils it will enliven your spirit and soften your skin. The money raised will go to SGK through my friend, Sari, who is walking in their 3 Day, 60 mile event. Anyone who participates in that walk is an inspiration, survivors and supporters come together and show their strength and willingness to work together to raise money to build awareness and find a cure. It is grueling and takes dedication but it is so worth it. I am happy to be able to donate what I can. Please visit Sari's page to donate directly or help by purchasing the pink grapefruit-peppermint soap.

YOU ROCK!!!
Both those soaps look and sound wonderful.
:)
Thanks, Jeni! They are pretty great soaps, in my humble opinion and I hope to do these amazing charities justice.
Tracy, your kindness has touched my heart. I am sending a bar to Emily, Faolan's mom, to let her know how many people have been touched by her story and are willing to help a worthy cause. Thank you!
