citrus-poppy seed castile soap

the second in my series of posts on my fabulous new set of Spring soaps, that just happen to be on sale while they last..

citrus-poppy seed! this one takes less explanation than the patchouli-orange, eh? You can just imagine the cheerful delicious scent of a lemon-poppy seed muffin! The scent of this gently scrubby bar is sweet and subtle. It is a blend of fresh lemon, sweet orange, and tangerine essential oils, all distilled from the citrus peels for the biting scent of the freshly cut fruit.
Citrus oils in particular are used in aromatherapy for fighting depression, to refresh the mind and body and uplift the spirit. The scent is green and fresh, perfect for this warmer weather and to shake off the last of those winter-blues.

Poppy seeds, coming from Poppy flowers, are probably best known in western culture for their use in pastries and other sweets, like the aforementioned muffin. They are also very popular for use in various types of Indian cooking.

The addition of poppy-seeds to this soap not only makes for one adorable looking bar, they also exfoliate as you cleanse. The little round seeds buff off excess dead skin cells (as the citrus oils help to gently dissolve them) smoothing rough spots and gradually exposing newer, healthier skin. When you exfoliate in this way you are also boosting your circulation which improves your skin tone and helps your skin better heal itself. A citrus scent is another uni-sex scent (great for both guys and gals!), it is great for boosting your mood and adding a refreshing quality to your morning shower.
